This is arranged by a company called the Half Moon Festival and takes place every two weeks, one week before and one week after the Full Moon party! It is planned and set up in a forest of a tropical island instead of the usual beach. The festival starts at 8 pm and ends after sunrise.

It is planned on a smaller scale than the Full Moon Party, but it provides the party-goers with a more safe and secure environment with a great, energetic vibe, a superior sound system, and a carefree experience! Some people say the Half Moon Party is even better than the Full Moon Party!

Before we go onto the details about the Half Moon Party, let’s explore what exactly happens at the party!

As soon as you enter the venue, you will be able to feel the buzz of the crowd, and all your doubts about going there will fade away! When you move a little further inside, you will find stalls that offer to do backlight body painting for you.

They charge for it, so it is recommended you do this beforehand at the place you are staying at, as most of the part-goers get them done, and you could think of it as a mandatory costume for the party! Somewhere near that, you’ll find a place where you can claim your free drink, Yes. It’s free! This will make you all pumped up to have the best time of your life!

The Half Moon Party has three stages: Tribal Stage, Funky stage, and Urban stage. During the Tribal stage, all the significant performances of the party take place with International DJs, epic lights, pumping tunes, and an enormous dance floor!

The funky stage will have a more mellow vibe than the Tribal stage, whereas the Urban stage will be all about the classic hip-hop and R&B tunes in an underground cave with smoke, lights, and UV paintings!

Alongside the stages, you’ll find food stalls with reasonable food such as pizzas, some Thai food, and much more!

Are You Worried That Your Music Taste Would Differ From The Party’s Music?

Well, you don’t need to worry about that! Because the Half Moon Party has a good combination of music. The three different stages provide a chance for people of different tastes to enjoy what they love most!

If you are still confused, then you can check their website for the DJs that they will be calling before purchasing the tickets!

Now, let’s go onto the crucial details regarding the Half Moon Party.

How To Arrive At Baan Tai, Koh Phangan?

Koh Phangan is located in the Southern part of the Gulf of Siam in Thailand, and Baan Tai village, situated on the island of Koh Phangan, is located between the two major arrival piers: Haad Rin and Thong Sala.

As there is no airport on the island, you will have to arrive by boat from Surat Thani (mainland) or Koh Samui (a neighbouring island with an airport).
